![]() ![]() Couldn't the authors have just waited and delivered a full book? It's like taking a few chapters from a book and trying to decide what rating it deserves based on that small piece. I guess it just bugs me that this "part" isn't anything close to resembling a full book that I can rate accurately. The "parts" are just a collection of a few chapters and each one is not particularly long so I know it wasn't serialized for length reasons. It is clearly all part of the same story the same book. HOWEVER, I can see absolutely no reason Never Never has been serialized other than as a money-making ploy by the authors. Unlike with some of the authors' other work, nothing about the plot or the characters irritated me and I genuinely care and want to find out just what the hell is going on. I found it easy to sprint through chapter after chapter, unlocking more questions and mysteries as I went along. On the one hand, as with part one, I found this book to be written in an extremely compelling way. ![]() I cannot decide how I want to rate Never Never: Part Two. ![]()

![]() ![]() The former good, he argues, is both intrinsically valuable and essential to various other goods. Swinburne concentrates much of his attention here on two special goods-humanfreedom (understood libertarianly) and being of use to others. Part 2 describes the kinds of goods we would expect God to want in his world. ![]() The author endeavors in the first of the books four parts to explain why a theodicy is generally needed-that is, why at least most contemporary Christians need to find plausible explanations for a perfectly good, all-knowing, omnipotent Godâs allowing so much evil. Despite the title, the book is more an exercise in theodicy than a thorough examination of the notion of providence. This book, the fourth in a tetralogy on philosophical questions raised by Christianity, is of the quality that readers expect of Swinburne, and will undoubtedly command the same degree of respect and attention as have his earlier works. PROVIDENCE AND THE PROBLEM OF EVIL PROVIDENCE AND THE PROBLEM OF EVILįew philosophers this century have been as prolific in their defense of a traditional theistic world-view as has Richard Swinburne. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In this fully revised edition of his groundbreaking biography, Morton considers Diana’s legacy and her relevance to the modern royal family.Īn icon in life and a legend in death, Diana continues to fascinate. He is a popular speaker on personal and organizational effectiveness. David AllenĪn author, lecturer and founder of his own management consulting, coaching, and training company, Allen has another bestseller to his credit, Ready for Anything. “If it’s on your mind,” the author writes, “your mind isn’t clear.” Anything you consider unfinished in any way must be captured in a trusted system outside your mind, or what I call a collection bucket, that you know you’ll come back to regularly and sort through. This lack of borders creates added work and spurs unnecessary, frequent memos and discussions. ![]() Continual change and fuzzy boundaries hamper many projects, he explains, so you may not be sure when you’ve even finished a job. ![]() Many people today take on more projects than they can handle, David Allen argues, thereby increasing their stress. ![]() ![]() ![]() The development of the individual child is not simply a matter of fulfilling one’s individual potential. ![]() Children manifest the natural variation of capacity among human beings: "This difference does not imply good or evil," ‘Abdu’l-Bahá states, "but is simply a difference of degree." 2 ![]() ![]() Thus no child is inherently bad or inherently good. Possessing both a spiritual and a material nature, the one attuned to God and the other to the material world, the child is born with an individual temperament and with spiritual and intellectual capacities for developing virtues, abilities, and talents. The child’s unsullied heart is not a blank slate, however. "They are mirrors upon which no dust has fallen." 1 "The hearts of all children are of the utmost purity," ‘Abdu’l-Bahá states. Children are born in a state of potentiality rather than of either goodness or sin. They do not belong to their parents but to the Creator, their true parent. Children, according to the Bahá’í teachings, are independent beings of great intrinsic value. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Before they came to town someone doused the place in sarin. Well, I just happen to have Appleseed: Volume One: The Promethean Challenge to hand.… It was pretty addictive stuff back in the Reagan Era - no American comics I knew of explored SF themes like Shirow’s or had the same striking art - but how well does it stand up today?
